Bunzl Distribution has announced that it has named its 2008 Warehouse Managers of the Year for outstanding performance in distribution and warehousing. The recognition is bestowed on a warehouse manager in the Sapphire Division, which includes branches with sales of $50 million or more, and a warehouse manager in the Emerald Division, which includes branches with sales of less than $50 million.

The winners are Will Rodriguez of R3 Northern California, Fremont, Calif., Sapphire Division, and Travis Pequin of Morgan Scott Kingston, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Emerald Division. Both were selected based on overall strong performance at their warehouses, including their ability to manage operating costs and productivity, reduce accidents and enhance safety, and use technology to manage operations.

“Will and Travis exemplify all the qualities and abilities of an outstanding warehouse manager,” said Rick Castetter, Vice President, Distribution and Warehousing, Bunzl Distribution. “Although all our warehouse managers do an excellent job of managing operations, these two are at the top of the class.”

Upon receiving his award, Will Rodriguez said, “Being fortunate to know many of the warehouse managers, it is a tremendous honor to have earned this recognition.”

Travis Pequin agreed, and added, “Being nominated with some great managers is in itself an honor. Most of all, I want to thank all the staff members of Morgan Scott Kingston. I dedicate this award to you.”
